Dear All Members,

Thank you to all players for your patience through pre-season as we head into what will be a big year.

Firstly, I wish to apologise for the instability in training nights and venues over the pre-season which some teams have experienced. We have had difficulties with our venues being already booked and due to this we are currently arranging an alternate venue to ensure the rest of the season flows smoothly. We are working extremely hard as a club to lock down a second facility and hope to have stability in training nights in a couple of weeks’ time. Any changes to this will continue to be communicated through Team App.

Secondly, another apology; this time for the lack of communication regarding fixtures. We have received one draft set of fixtures from Volleyball WA for Super League 1/2/3 teams only at this stage; these fixtures do not have any times or locations and are currently being revised by VWA. We can confirm that Super League 1 teams will be commencing games Friday 4th May, with all other teams commencing Sunday 6th May. Once VWA release fixtures they will be uploaded to Team App and accessible to everyone.

Thirdly, due to a loss of numbers in the Men’s SL Reserves teams we have had to amalgamate the four teams into three – we have tried to sustain having four teams for as long as we can however this is no longer a feasible solution. Lachlan will be sending an email out soon regarding team merging and we will be updating the Team App groups to reflect these changes. These decisions have been made in discussions with the coaches and we believe are in everyones best interests

Another reminder about fees. Today is the final due date for club fees. All players with outstanding fees will have been sent an invoice this week from our treasurer Sharon – these must be paid in full or a payment plan arranged otherwise you will not be allowed to play. If you wish to start a payment plan please email Sharon at treasurer@northernstarsvolleyball.com at your earliest possible convenience. No pay = no play

Current VWA memberships are also required for clearance to play – coaches are given a list of players who appear to have not paid. If you have paid your VWA Membership ($95 seniors, $75 juniors) and you are listed as not paid, please let your coach know.

In some exciting news uniforms have arrived! These will be distributed to players at training next week or before your game on Friday/Sunday. We will be having a Merch Day soon for any additional gear you might want, so stay tuned!
